Skullcandy is seeking a talented Copywriter to lead the charge in defining, maintaining and evolving the tone of voice for the global brand. With our focus on digital media and marketing and our core audience of millennials, it is important for our copy to be as remarkable and concise as possible. This position will be a critical part of the brainstorming and ideation of everything from Brand Campaigns all the way down to the detailed product copy used in catalog and at POS. This person will work closely with Creative Director and Brand Director to deliver the needs of the various marketing and digital departments in the company. The Copywriter and Creative Director are accountable for checking all the content being advertised is accurate, compelling and supports the overall company goals.
Own all copy communication for the brand.
Work with Marketing and Creative to develop Campaign Concepts and Headline copy.
Define the Copy deck for campaigns with the different levels of communication.
Work with Function leaders (Brand, Digital, Product, Retail Training, Retail Marketing, etc) to deliver all brand/product communications and category messaging from consumer facing to retail training.
Write press releases for Key Brand initiatives, Events, Activations and Product Launches.
Present creative concepts and campaign ideas to a cross functional group of directors and executives.
Aid in defining the team’s core message and target audience for each campaign. Review and editing briefs to get to clarity on any project or initiative.
Responsible for creative concepting in accordance with briefs to accomplish a specific communication or brand need.
Brainstorm visual and copy ideas with other members of the creative team and refine the stories and narrative.
In depth writing of product descriptions during the production phase and support copy for headlines and campaign direction.
Aid in the development, storyboarding and scripting of all creative ideas and campaign concepts
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors Degree required; Writing or related prefered.
4-6 years of industry writing experience (lifestyle and performance brand experience is a plus) or Ad Agency experience.
Must have a solid portfolio of world-class creative and or writing projects.
Experience working on major global brands, for 360 campaigns.
Awards might help - but no matter what - you should be clever.

Must be able to work collaboratively as a member of a team both as a leader and contributor.
Must have a strong history of working in groups to solve challenging problems and align communication.
Must have excellent proofing and editing skills.
Must be quick and flexible. We work in a fast-moving constantly changing business.
Must have an eye for detail.
